Info
German DJ / Producer Joachim Spieth returns on Affin with a superb remix ep of his successful tune - Sensual’ from the label’s 100th release. Therefore Spieth included Brendon Moeller, Reggy Van Oers & Jamal Moulay. It’s impressing to see the variety the guys put out of the original. Brendon Moeller (Echologist/Steadfast Records) comes up with flowing fx lines, fat stabs, nice added chords, just a massive reshape. Reggy Van Oers version is more on the chords. So this one tends to be a straight but very clear sounding techno trip you won’t forget. Jamal Moulay shows a different insight on it. A fat kick, layered chords and some nice acid extracts on a base that seems to develop constantely. Nice rework.
‘Sensual’ original was already charted & played by Martin Gore (Depeche Mode), Scuba, Shlomi Aber, Samuel L Session, Jonas Kopp, DVS1, Electric Indigo, Agaric, Vidal, Patrick Siech, Steve Parker, and many more …

Roberto is one of the most impressing label acts in the last months. After grandious remix ep’s with Samuel L Session (The Land Of The Midnight Sun), Steve Rachmad (Logical Progression) and his outstanding “Level 7” remix for Space Djs, Roberto hits Affin with “First Principles” ep. The title track deals with straight beats but integrates warm chords, what a great mixture of techno & house. On with a gorgeous dubby and sub bass-branded Unbalance “First Principles” remix. Bomb! “Silvertown” represents a Roberto typical high-class chordish techno track while “Going Fast Nowhere” is working on a drum sequences combined with pitched vocals. Massive, isn’t it?
Feedback on First Principles

Xpansul (Ovum Recordings) Nice one here. Dub and deep. Loving it!
Mijk van Dijk rarely there are tracks where I go whipping with my feet already with the first beat like in “First Principles”. Love it. “Silvertown” sounds like a “Dave Clarke Red 5” might have sounded like, I take that as a good thing, great classic tech track. “Going Fast Nowhere” is also one for me, very alien, distant and cool. In general I love the unconventional way, Roberto programs his drums in a very sparse and tribal way, drawing the excitement from the classic repetition of a perfect pattern rather than those usual effects build-ups.
Patrck Graeser (marceldettmannrecords) thanks will play!
thefuturist.se Cool, thanks

The young australian producer James Hunter another time on Affin!
After his very successful debut „Heybo“ ep in spring 2011, „Change Of Heart“ marks Hunters follow-up. The title track „Change Of Heart“ is deep and melodic at the same time, very detailed arrangements, wow. The tasteful remixes are from Enough! labelhead Danilo Schneider and Berlin-based Siz.da. „Stay Between the Lines“ as last tune shows another time that James Hunter is one of the best newcomers for the deep & housy Affin line at the moment.

After his debut on Affin last year with Busker, Chris Page returns with the Used EP. While the Busker EP played around with dubby chord stabs, Used is an altogether darker beast. The slowly-building, gentle acidic groove of the title track sets the tone of the release. Tatoo follows up proceedings with an overdriven bassline, which simmers away underneath convulsing distorted stabs. Finally, Affin welcomes Mattias Fridell. Here he makes his first appearance for us with his remix of Used. Taking the original and dimming down its lights, to produce a moody, atmospheric slice of rolling techno”.

Little Fritter, one of the most successful acts on Affin hits another time with
his brandnew EP “Raw Fix”. After countless releases on Affin, Brut!, One Records or the recently licensed track “Bubbling Bafoon” to Steve Lawler’s “Lights out Decade” mix compilation (on Viva Music), “Raw Fix” welcomes 2012 with his unique mixture of pumping house beats and a little dirt between. A “walking” bass, uplifting chords and the driving shaker lines defining “Raw Fix”, the opener track. Moerover, you’ll be surprised by the merging vocal snippets added to this mover.
The Romania based producer team Egal 3 (also appearing on Barraca, Be As One, Fear Of Flying) turn the Original into a jazzy and weird tune with a feeling of an almost hand-played bassline. Great! The hammering “Raw Tip” is just a hi-energy tool that will fill the floors with smiling faces and happyness all over. Next level…
